The Crest shown on these stamps was designed by Rev S. T. Percival. The stamps were designed by William Kerry and printed in typography by Harrison & Sons. A double (pronounced "dooble") was an old Guernsey coin eight of which was equivalent to a British 1d.  In March 1954 it was decided to reprint the 6d colour stamp in a different colour (orange) because of the similarity in the colour of the original 6d stamp to the 8 doubles.

B&F No. 11 - 16 and 11.S - 16.S
